Missive #604

115. Who Wants to Get Rich?

Nasruddin stood in the village square and shouted loudly for all to hear, “Who wants to get rich?”

A few people gathered around. “We do!” they yelled.

“And who wants to get rich without doing any work?”

More people began to gather around. “We do!” they yelled.

“Tell me, people,” Nasruddin shouted even more loudly, “who wants the secret to getting rich without having to do any work at all?”

A crowd of people now filled the square. “We do! We all do!” they yelled.

“I do too!” shouted Nasruddin.

Then he added, “Does anybody here actually know the secret?”

In the book that predicted our current political climate, conservative talk-show host and #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Savage shows how true patriots can defend America’s freedoms before it’s too late.

The split between the right and the left is growing every day, and our country is in real trouble. This book was published in 2014 and attributes most of problems that the United States was suffering were caused by Obama. It is not very well written and only points out what was obvious then and continued with Biden. In his first term Trump attempted to reverse some of the damage as he has also tried in his second term. However, he is fighting a battle with only about half the Republican Party to help him. The many times that the Civil War 2.0 has been predicted has not come to pass and I don’t think it will until the country is subjected to some serious economic pain – it is coming but not for a few more years. Not a recommended book. Not between the states, but between true patriots who believe in our nation’s founding principles and those he believes are working every day to undermine them and change the very nature of the country.

Michael Savage is convinced we face more than just political differences. He believes the split between right and left is possibly irreversible unless we understand what’s destroying American values and how to stop it. This fervent warning offers the Savage truth – a call to action in the voting booth – in order to defend the freedoms our Constitution so brilliantly established. — Book promo @ goodreads.com

There has been a lot of gnashing of teeth about closing down the federal Department of Education. I think that is a good idea and long past time for it to go. The experiment has failed and the only reason for the Department to continue is to funnel money to the people that have tapped into the taxpayers pockets. I offer this bit of data to support my position.
The English Language Proficiency Study (ELPS) in 1982 found 13 percent of US adults in the United States to be considered illiterate.
In 2024 21 percent of adults in the US were illiterate and of those considered to be literate 54 percent have a literacy below a 6th-grade level (20 percent are below 5th-grade level).

This could go a long way toward explaining why I have so much trouble getting responses to my emails.
