I attempted to move WordPress from the subdomain to my main site and made a hash of it. Went online and had a Chat with the rep at Web Hosting Hub and she fixed the mess that I had created. At least it appears to me that she has fixed it.
If you have accessed this Home page and are also able to open the Post Page then all is good!
All was NOT GOOD. I lost all my Old files. Had a long Chat about fixing that and still be able to open WordPress as the Home page. Not sure if that is going to happen or not. “This is a fine mess you’ve gotten us into.” — Ollie (Oliver Hardy)
Web Hosting Hub Support has given me what I was looking for. You should be opening the WordPress Home page IF you enter edwardfrey.com in the browser address bar. If you have Bookmarked https://edwardfrey.com/index.html you will get an Error page on WordPress. The links to and from the Menu items in the upper right seem to be working now. However, I need to change the Home links for about 350-400 pages in my old site. They are all linking to the /index.html Home page and I want them to link back to WordPress Home.
I had your old blog bookmarked. When I clicked it, I was sent straight to this page. I then opened the link to read your whole post. Lets see if your comments work for someone that does not have a WordPress account.
I received an email that a Comment had been posted but I had to approve it before it showed on the Posting page.
I need to do some work on how to handle Comments. But that is only a small part of the work I have to do with all the links in the Old site.
I have created a monster that is going to keep me either in or out of trouble for a long time. HA
I think on WordPress you only have to approve the first comment from someone. I guess we will find out after I post this comment. Oh, I was able to get your Maps okay clicking your link at the top of this blog.
Yes, I didn’t have to approve your reply.
I also had the Map page Home button link fixed so it would return you to the WordPress Home page. I have a LOT more of those links to fix. Working on that today.
Not sure if I have a WordPress account or not, so THIS IS A TEST.
Actually I am glad you moved over to WordPress.
You don’t need a WordPress account but I did have to approve your Comments before they would appear. The next time?
How about a banner photo of the dogs?
I’m not a big fan of banners on blogs but will give it some thought. I have a lot more than that on my plate right now.
OK let’s see if this comment appears on your blog WITHOUT your need to comment.
meant “your need to moderate.”
Hmm it looks like your site ate my first
comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say,
I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to
the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for novice blog
writers? I’d really appreciate it.
I’m not a ‘real’ blogger. I simply write what I feel like writing and express myself using quotes of what others have said.
Tip: Write what you are interested in.
