98. Nasruddin Goes Upstairs

Nasruddin had invited his friends to dinner. “They’re coming right behind me,” he said to his wife when he got home.

“But there’s no food in the house!” she exclaimed.

“What will we do?” groaned Nasruddin.

“Go upstairs! I’ll do the rest.”

A moment later, Nasruddin’s friends knocked at the door. “Your husband invited us for dinner!” they said.

“Alas, my husband has gone out,” his wife told them. “I don’t know when he’ll be back.”

“But we saw him come in!”

“I could have gone out the back!” Nasruddin shouted from upstairs. “You didn’t think of that, did you?”

The new A/C is working great. The high temperature on Tuesday, when I got back here, was 93 ° then on Wednesday it was 99 — I was very comfortable. It may struggle with temperatures over 100 but I think maybe less that the old unit.

I went to town on Thursday with the intent of having breakfast at Ella’s but found that they were closed for this week. That meant I had an hour wait for Smoky’s, that is across the street, to open where I did get my usual breakfast but it was not as good as Ella’s or the Adobe Bakery and Cafe. I then went to Jake’s to get groceries and pick up my order of yogurt. Got the groceries but no order had arrived. I’m disappointed in them, they have been good in getting my orders in the past but this time it has been almost two weeks and no yogurt.

Then went to the garage and talked to the mechanic. I’ll be getting the engine replaced starting next Monday. I have no idea how long it is going to take but however long I’ll most likely not have any internet connection for the duration. Should get a lot of reading done while that is going on; maybe some books that I can recommend.
