In this stunning book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of “outliers”—the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different?
His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing. Along the way he explains the secrets of software billionaires, what it takes to be a great soccer player, why Asians are good at math, and what made the Beatles the greatest rock band.
Brilliant and entertaining, Outliers is a landmark work that will simultaneously delight and illuminate.

We got a taste of Summer during 10-12 April with the high temperatures all over 90°F getting up to 94. Yesterday cooled down a little with the next three days forecast to be in the upper 80s then maybe going back to lower 80s and upper 70s for the rest of the 10 day forecast. Ran the A/C and had some problem with it yesterday; the fan quit a couple of times and it shut down completely once. I have an appointment at RV City for the window channel replacements so maybe get them to take a look at the A/C while I’m there.
A few weeks ago I opened a Mega Cloud storage account and installed their app on the HP and System 76 laptops. Only uploaded a few files which went fine but to download them has been a problem; yesterday I gave up and spent a lot of time getting the apps uninstalled. All apps are easily installed but it seems all apps are very difficult to uninstall. I’m going to give IceDrive (another cloud storage) a try and see if they are any better.
Another grocery gathering trip to town this morning. That and breakfast was all there was.
