My trip to the VA in Tucson and Sierra Vista became an all day affair. The VA appointment went very well with the CAT scan being done before the appointment time and I was back to Desperado by that time. Then it took me forever to get out of Tucson. The condition of I-10 in AZ from the NM-AZ state line to Tucson is terrible compared to NM. So where is the road improvement money spent? In Tucson where they have about eight miles of road construction from east of the exit to the VA. The traffic back up in the morning was not too bad but I could see it stopped where I would have entered I-10 and I chose to take Benson Hwy road which mostly parallels the Interstate. However, there was a lot of traffic that had that same idea so it was better but not good. When I did get onto I-10 the traffic was very heavy until I got off onto AZ83 that took me south and joined AZ82 east and then AZ90 south to Sierra Vista.

First stop in Sierra Vista was at the Coop where I picked up the Skyr yogurt order that they had waiting. I also meet the new Grocery Manager that is much more responsive that the previous one was. Trying to get an order filled with the prior manager was a trial and I was about to give up on the Coop. The next stop was at WalMart Vision where I wanted new glasses frame and have the prescription filled that I got fro the VA Clinic last April. Since having cataract surgery I have had bifocals on one set of glasses and single vision for reading on the other set. I have not liked the bifocals and went back to progressives which I wore for years prior to the surgery.

That stop at WalMart took far longer than it should which had me heading ‘home’ in the late afternoon. Tucson and Sierra Vista had been sunny all day but the closer I got to the Park the more threatening the sky looked and I got rained on again for most of the last 10-15 miles and hooked up to electric and water in a light rain. This is the desert, it is not the northwest, what is it with me getting rained on so much?
