109. Nasruddin’s House with Many Windows
Nasruddin had built a new house, and there were many windows, big and small, in every wall.
“I’ve never seen a house with so many windows!” said Nasruddin’s neighbor.
“That’s my own design,” Nasruddin explained. “This new house has twenty windows! My old house had just one.”
“Why so many?” asked the neighbor.
“To stay warm in winter!” replied Nasruddin. “My old house became much warmer when I closed my window in the winter. Now when winter comes, I have twenty windows to close, so the house will be twenty times warmer. I won’t even need to light a fire!”

I have known for some time that the battery in Desperado was going to die soon and needed to be replaced. Since I got the rebuilt engine that just became even more noticeable. Then last week when I had the oil change done by Highway 92 Service Center in South Bisbee they said that the battery was showing a low charge. So yesterday I went back and got it replaced by them. The battery that was replaced lasted 181 months which is certainly not usual for a vehicle battery and I don’t expect its replacement to last that long but I can hope. HA
The replacement is a FVP brand that is manufactured by Hankook which brand manufactures a lot of SMF batteries at their Nashville, TN plant. I had never heard of the brand before but it gets good reviews and has a 30 month warrantee. Time will tell.
It has quite raining and I have been doing our walks again. It continues to be partly cloudy most days with today being mostly cloudy rather than partly. Cooler temperatures with the highs in the 70s rather that the 80s and lows in the 50s. Those are temperatures that I could live with year around but they will not last very long maybe with any luck until the end of October. I may see some below freezing morning in Elephant Butte during November and certainly will have them when I get back here in December. Winter is soon to come.
