161. Nasruddin’s Tears

Nasruddin’s wife had just given birth, but the baby was restless. She rocked the baby, sang to him, doing everything she could to lull the infant to sleep, but nothing seemed to work.

“I’ll take care of it,” said Nasruddin.

“You don’t know anything about babies!” his wife replied.

“But I know how to put people to sleep,” said Nasruddin. “My pupils often fall asleep during my lectures. I’ll try lecturing first, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll give him this boring book to read.” Nasruddin took a book down off the shelf. “It puts me to sleep every time!”

I went shopping again at Pepper’s on Wednesday with breakfast at Sunrise Kitchen but got their Huevos a la Mexicana this time. I did not like it very much, I’ll stick with their Feta Omelet in the future. Then yesterday I think Fall arrived here in Deming, there was a cold wind blowing while we were on our walk and it did get warmer but also gathered in speed and the amount of dust. This morning the wind was rocking Desperado enough that I woke up and the forecast was for another day like yesterday. Canceled our walk and hoped for less wind later in the day so I can go out and do holding tank dumps without getting blown away.
