131. Nasruddin’s Views on Cheese

“Bring me some cheese,” Nasruddin said to his wife. “Cheese is healthy, and it’s tasty too. They say it’s good for your bones. I like cheese very much.”

“I don’t think we have any cheese,” Nasruddin’s wife replied apologetically.

“Just as well I suppose,” said Nasruddin. “They say cheese is hard on the stomach and it always gives me gas. I really don’t like cheese at all.”

“I don’t understand,” said Nasruddin’s wife, now very confused. “Do you like cheese, or do you not like it?”

“That depends on whether there’s any cheese in the house or not,” replied Nasruddin.

I went to Sierra Vista on Wednesday with a first stop at the VA for a blood draw. That went well after I found out what hoops I needed to jump through when now getting a blood draw as a walk-in. The VA changes their routine and never provides and notice that there have been change or instructions on how the new routine works. After they got all the blood they wanted I got one of the reception clerks to help me with a VA billing screw-up that I have. It is partially my fault since I move around from place to place and have a difficult time getting mail. When I got back to the Sierra Vista area last November there were 3-4 VA copay statements waiting for me and I sorted them out incorrectly and underpaid so the Treasury Department has been dunning me for the money. The clerk helped but I think this issue will most likely take another year to get straighten out.

The next stop was at Taco Giro for breakfast and then to Fry’s to gas up Desperado. I wanted to top off the tank knowing there is going to be gas price increases and possible supply shortages. The price increases have already hit. I paid exactly $1/gal more yesterday than I did on 28 February. With a full tank I think I have enough gas that I can get to my dentist in Naco and then back to Sierra Vista for VA appointments but if there are supply issues I could have a problem getting back to my Park.

After gassing up I went to Safeway and picked up a few things then my UPS Store to pick up mail. The most important being the two year licence plate tag and registration. The last stop was at the Coop where I wanted to pick up the order that I had requested a couple weeks ago. No order received because the order was never placed. My email request was in their Junk file. This is the second time this has happened. You would think a business would pay attention to their email including their Junk file but the Coop doesn’t do that.
