108. The Warmth of a Candle
Nasruddin made a bet with his neighbor. “I’ll stand in the snow with only a blanket for warmth. If I last all night, you feed me; otherwise, I feed you.”
Nasruddin stood all night in the snow. “I won!” he shouted.
“No!” his neighbor protested. “You used the candle burning in my window for warmth. I’ll come over tonight to eat that dinner.”
When the neighbor arrived, Nasruddin explained the soup wasn’t ready.
The neighbor waited.
And waited.
Finally, he went into the kitchen and saw a pot suspended over a candle.
“Imagine that!” said Nasruddin. “The soup’s still cold.”

I finally have an appointment with the RV repair shop in Elephant Butte, NM to get the leaking fresh water tank fixed. That only took 3-4 emails. The even harder thing to do was get a reservation at a RV Park that is the closest one near by. That took more than four emails and I sent pictures of Desperado three times because she was built before 2010. I don’t know if I’ll ever want to stay in Elephant Butte again but if I do it will be at a different Park.
Nothing else happening here other than I have been buying some stuff online hoping to have it delivered before I leave here for the month of November. I thought the mail delivery situation here was going to be screwed up by the owner but he has clarified what he is doing. The USPS mail will still be delivered to the office but then will be put in one of those multi-boxes by him or a park host and I’ll then get my USPS mail out of the box with a key – this will be the new routine versus the mail being brought to my site. UPS and FedEx will still deliver to the site – maybe, but that does not change.
I went to The Bisbee Breakfast Club for breakfast again this morning and then to the shop in South Bisbee where I got an oil change for Desperado. Directly behind that shop is Safeway where I picked up a few things before returning to the Campground. My next grocery gathering might be in Sierra Vista if the Coop get my order ready by next mid-week. we will see.
