Finley Peter Dunne, also known as F. P. D. (1867- 1936) was a Chicago-based American author, writer and humorist. He published Mr. Dooley in Peace and War, a collection of his nationally syndicated Mr. Dooley sketches, in 1898. The fictional Mr. Dooley expounded upon political and social issues of the day from his South Side Chicago Irish pub and he spoke with the thick verbiage and accent of an Irish immigrant. These books are an enjoyable read once you get past the thick accent and start hearing it as you read. he wrote more which I’ll get to in due time. His sly humor and political acumen won the support of President Theodore Roosevelt, a frequent target of Mr. Dooley’s barbs. Indeed his sketches became so popular and such a litmus test of public opinion that they were read each week at White House cabinet meetings. Book Promo @ goodreads.com

We got almost .5″ of rain Friday night and early Saturday morning. That means that the roads that I would be walking wound be a muddy mess because of the traffic on them. Took the day off and gave them a chance to dry. Sunday morning during my walk I suddenly had the first indications that a psoriasis flare was coming on and had to sit down for a few minutes before I could continue. When I got back to Desperado I took 800 mg of Ibuprofen and went to bed were I had the chills another indication of a possible flare. Felt better by 10:00 am so got up and ate breakfast but decided not to push it and skipped the afternoon walk.

I finished the conversion of the Cross Country Tour and have added it to the hamburger menu under the #Bicycling heading. Have also converted the Virtual Walk map that has markers showing my position at the end of each four week period. I’ll be working on the conversion of the Western Tour and also the Virtual Walk map that draws a route line through all those positions shown by the markers. Both of those project are going to take me some time but I’ll get them done eventually.

There has been, and will be, a lot said about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I don’t do Podcasts because my hearing is poor so I have never heard Kirk and know nothing about him other than what I have read. What I have read by his supporters indicate that he was conservative. What I have read by his opponents indicate that he was conservative. Therefor, I will go with the the opinions of the two opposing sides in regards to his political status as conservative. That make these quotes by other conservatives more meaningful.

We’re in the civil war. It’s not coming — it’s here. And it’s one-sided. The left is killing the right. The left is silencing the right. People are terrified to even speak their views in public, afraid of being attacked. It’s a one-way civil war. — Michael Savage

When there’s a killing, the left always tries to assign the killer to the right. We’re used to it. And the vast majority of the right always overwhelmingly condemns the killer.
It doesn’t matter how hard the left scrambles to put the shooter in some particular ideological bucket to cover their asses and take no blame (as usual), because regular America saw how fucking gleeful libs were when somebody just like them dies horribly. They realized that the left wants them dead. Not metaphorically. They want you to die. Some of us have known this for a long time because we pissed off the left somehow previously, but for the regular folks, coming to that understanding is a life-changing moment. — Larry Correia
