I drove to Eagar, AZ yesterday with a first stop at the Trailriders restaurant for breakfast. Then from the same parking lot I gathered a few groceries from Basha’s. The priority for going to Eagar was to get a hair cut at Maria’s Beauty Salon which was apen at 8:00 Az Time and I got in with no waiting. The second reason was while there I was able to fill Desperado’s gas tank with some expensive gas but it was less expensive than in Reserve.
On the drive to Eagar I saw about 20 elk just west of Luna, Nm with one of them a spike bull elk that was still in velvet. Thaat is the first bull that I have seen this summer and could very well be the last. When bow season starts here in September the bulls become even more scarce than now and the rest of the heard becomes skittish as well.
