Missive #620

The man behind the mask

To the world, Jean-Charles Laroque was a tyrannical ruler – a powerful mercenary driven by greed. But was he threatening enough to assassinate? Making that assessment was profiler Emily Carlin, a woman whose professionalism masked her phobia of being dominated by an alpha male. This is the forth book in the series with one more to read. This one is far and away more a chick book than the previous three. Very little military action or suspense and more bodice ripping. I’ll read the last book in the series and then move on to the author’s Wild Country series and hope that she moves toward more suspense. A male like Laroque. Working undercover to infiltrate his psyche, Emily discovered a noble man – and an undeniable attraction.

Amid the hot nights, Emily found herself falling for the magnetic Laroque. And if he discovered her true identity, she might lose not only her chance at love, but also her life. — Book promo @ goodreads.com

Nothing much happening here during this Christmas week. I’m getting caught up, somewhat, with reading the books that I have on my To Read List. Still have a lot more on there!

Slowly adding some walking distance by adding an afternoon walk. The different shoes are working out by eliminating the foot pain that I had by hurting in a different place. Not so bad that I’m not walking but certainly enough that I notice.
