Missive #811

When Marion Laing’s ex-husband dies, she is far from satisfied with the country house and annual income of £20,000 that he leaves her,I was disappointed with this book. The author’s previous books have been entertaining, this one I found to be very boring. as it is not nearly enough for an extravagant and greedy lady.

The Walking Man Maps are now live. Go to the right sidebar and click on the first link in the Virtual Walk Widget.
This is part of what the Brave AI said when I ask to compare free Claud to free ChatGPT. “While ChatGPT Free uses a weaker model (e.g., GPT-4o mini) compared to Claude’s Sonnet/Haiku in the free tier, Claude’s ability to retain context across a session often results in higher quality outcomes for complex refactoring and large codebase analysis.”
When I went back to Claud and showed the tweaks that I had done I also mention what my planned future was for the map and he gave me the coding for those plans. I may need to tweak them some as well but I didn’t have to spell out in any detail what I wanted. With ChatGPT, if the past is a predictor, I would have been sending clarification messages and corrections and still not get what I wanted.

I had Claud help me with another issue yesterday. The two Virtual Walk maps that I currently have live are both Google API Maps that have a Google API key/token that will show up if a user should hunt for it. So I now have Drafts that use OpenStreetMaps that does not require a key/token and I’ll soon replace the Google API Maps. I also realized that the Google API Maps that I have for all my homegrown web pages and for those that I converted to MapBox also had key/tokens. So, with the help of Claud I replaced all the default tokens in MapBox with public tokens that are restricted to read only. When I have finished the conversions I’ll throw the Google pages away.
