I would usually have been doing house cleaning yesterday and today but there is still too much mud by my entry steps. I can avoid most of it but Erik is not as discriminating and between the two of us there is mud tracked inside. Maybe get to it in another couple of days if it quits raining long enough for it to dry out. I have also changed my walking route slightly to avoid a couple muddy areas in the usual route. Summer here is either drought or flood. It is not the best for the elk and other animals but I prefer the drought.
I have found another Weather Underground reporting station that is about 3 miles from my location versus the 18 miles for the station that I have been following. This station only started reporting as of 5 July but for the month of July has recorded 5.17″ of rain. The big flood of 21 July was shown as 1.45″ then the next one was .85″ and yesterday we got .87″. There was some recorded rain everyday for the past 12 days. I have had enough already!
