132. Nasruddin Eats the Walnuts and the Shells
Nasruddin was eating some walnuts, shells and all.
“What on earth are you doing?” asked his wife, surprised. “Why don’t you crack the shell and take the nut out before you eat them?”
“Well,” said Nasruddin. “I already know there’s a walnut in there, so I don’t need to crack the shells in order to find that out.”
He then ate another walnut in the shell.
“Plus, when I paid for these, I paid by the pound, shells and all. If I throw away the shells, that’s like throwing away money!” Nasruddin explained. “This way, I’m getting my money’s worth.”

I went to Naco, MX for my dental appointment on Wednesday but stopped at Bisbee Breakfast Club first. Then did a grocery gathering at Safeway before continuing to the appointment. They took me a few minutes early and I was out of there in less than an hour. Picked up some antibiotics at the pharmacy in the same block and headed back for the Park. Didn’t do much for the rest of the day and took one Acetaminophen before going to bed and one the next morning. Not a lot of pain but certainly uncomfortable. I don’t have to go back, which is good, since there was only one stitch put in and it is a dissoluble one. I’ll go back in November and get a new partial that will include this tooth that was removed. I’ve now had seven teeth pulled by the dentist and the new partial will be a replacement for five of them. Couldn’t afford to have it all done in the US.
Maybe get a break from the summer temperatures that we have been having. The forecast is for highs in the 80s starting this weekend and moving down into the 70s next week. That will be very good, it too early for Summer.

With both American aircraft carriers far from the Straits of Hormuz now (one damaged by an Iranian missile) and no real options for Trump to turn to, to settle world oil prices and come down hard on the Iranians, he’s looking like the greatest loser America has ever had as a president. It is not inconceivable that he will send ground forces to the region if the situation gets worse. This decision is more or less taken for him as his own rationale must constantly come up with media fodder which keeps him in the news as the main story. Sending troops to the region though is not the same as sending them in, although the bombing which is now going on along Iran’s coastline would suggest that he believes U.S. marines could control and contain those Iranian military installations, which is worrying as a second colossal failure of joined-up thinking seems to be heading our way. — Trumps Bombardment Of Fake News So Far Is Working Quite Well But Where Is It Heading by Martin Jay

How to be a parent in the 21st Century: Make sure your children’s academic, emotional, psychological, mental, spiritual, physical, nutritional, and social needs are met while being careful not to over stimulate, under stimulate, improperly medicate, helicopter, or neglect them in a screen-free, processed foods-free, GMO-free, negative energy-free, plastic-free, body positive, socially conscious, egalitarian but also authoritative, nurturing but fostering of independence, gentle but not overly permissive, pesticide- free two-story, multilingual home, preferably in a cul-de-sac with a backyard and 1.5 siblings spaced at least two years apart for proper development, also don’t forget the coconut oil.
How to be a parent in all the prior Centuries: Feed them sometimes.
Waitress: How do you like your steak?
Man: Same way I like my sex.
Waitress: So “very rare” then!
