Missive #682

For Leo Davies, a charming, brilliant barrister in one of London’s most prestigious chambers, life has been good. But behind the elegant doors of Caper Court, the elite barrister’s chamber, are the hard choices, the ethical dilemmas, the overlap between the personal and the professional, the sacrifices, the deceitful politics, the affairs and the corruption. Life at the Bar is gritty behind the gloss and Leo Davies QC is at the centre of another Caper Court drama. Fraser is the daughter of the late George MacDonald Fraser, beloved author of the Flashman novels. The only news that I have is that it has been HOT. The past five days have all been over 90°F, with the forecast of four more to come, with two of them over 100. The highest reaching 101.5 last Saturday. This is not usual March weather which is more likely to have strong winds rather than high temperatures.
The weather ‘experts’ say “Record-breaking heat wave in the western U.S. has set temperatures not seen in at least 500 years, according to climate scientists.” They then go on to say that such a heat wave would be “virtually impossible” without human-induced global warming. Yet, if there was such a heat wave 500 years ago and 500 years before that hiow it they happen without human-induced global warming?
It can be easily fixed — simply increase taxes.

Not doing much other than trying to stay cool. I did get the Virtual Walk maps updated and continue to get caught up with my To Read List.
