133. Nasruddin Eats an Apple

Nasruddin walked by the grocer’s stall in the market. He was feeling very hungry, but he didn’t have any money.

As he looked at the heap of apples on display, Nasruddin could not resist. He reached out, grabbed one of the apples, and bit into it. “Delicious!” he exclaimed.

“Hey there!” shouted the grocer. “You can’t do that!”

“What do you mean?” asked Nasruddin.

“I mean you can’t eat that apple without paying for it,” shouted the grocer. “It’s not ethical!”

“Oh, that’s not a problem!” Nasruddin replied happily. “I’m eating this apple because it’s nutritional, not because it’s ethical.”

I got an unusually quick response from my VA ‘doctor’ that the order for a CT scan can be put off until November. Therefor, I started sending off email confirmations that I would be at the Park in May where I had a deposit, to the Park in June that I was still on my way. Also sent an email to the RV service shop in Elephant Butte, NM that I wanted an appointment and time in May for them to do the roof coating on Desperado. Last but not least I sent an email to the garage in Reserve telling him to order the new tires to be installed in June. He requested pictures of the current tire sidewall and tread. This would be very simple for any 5th grader but it took this ‘ol guy forever to get pictures that were reasonably good and get them transferred to an email back to him. I haven’t heard any more from him so I guess they were what he wanted; if not I’m not sure what I can do other that see if I can find a 5th grader.

The last couple of days in March and the first two in April have been much closer to Spring temperatures versus the week of Summer that we had in March. We have not had the usual strong winds that are a sign of Spring here this year. Although, I did have disrupting winds while driving to and from Sierra Vista last Wednesday. Got a little rain while there also, not much but enough to use the windshield wipers.
