We remember World War II as a struggle between good and evil, with Hitler propelling events and the Allied powers saving the day. But Hitler’s armies did not fight in multiple theaters, his empire did not span the Eurasian continent, and he did not inherit the spoils of war. That role belonged to Joseph Stalin. Hitler’s genocidal ambition may have unleashed Armageddon, but as celebrated historian Sean McMeekin shows, the conflicts that emerged were the result of Stalin’s maneuverings, orchestrated to unleash a war between capitalist powers in Europe and between Japan and the Anglo-American forces in the Pacific.
A groundbreaking reassessment, Stalin’s War is essential reading for anyone looking to understand the roots of the current world order. — Book promo @ goodreads.com

The water leak was almost fixed yesterday. What they did was apply an epoxy ‘band aid’ on the place where it was leaking. There is no guarantee that it is going to last for an extended length of time but the alternative was out of my price range. The leak is at the outlet fitting from the tank to the input line to the water pump. The plan is that will be sealed with epoxy and then I should never completely fill the tank to minimize the pressure on that patch. So, unlike what I have been doing – fill the tank completely and use the pump – in the future I’ll stay connected to ‘shore’ water most of the time and only use water from the tank on a limited basis. The alternative would have been a replacement tank, which is relatively inexpensive, but with labor would cost somewhere in the rage of $3,000.
They got the ‘band aid’ in place yesterday, I then went back to the Park and let it dry overnight. Today I go back and they will add some water but not completely fill the tank. Hopefully, that will have ‘fixed’ the leak.
The breakfast stop yesterday was at Johnny B’s one of the very few places that I have found that open at 7:00. After breakfast I went to Walmart, a long block from Johnny’s, which is one of two grocery stores in Elephant Butte and Truth or Consequences, NM. I’ll give the other store a try before I leave here but it is a much longer drive from the Park.
The BoxTrapper continues to do a good job. I have not had one of the bot Spams appear in my Inbox since I activated it. The other emails that I have routinely deleted also get trapped but I just delete them form the trap queue and move on. If you have a web hosting server that includes cPanel that also includes BoxTrapper I recommend using it. If the cPanel does not include it you can add it – recommended.

If you make your living by trying to solve a problem, the last thing you want to do is to succeed. — Drugs A Misunderstood Industry by Fred Reed
War on Poverty 1964, War on Drugs 1971, Equal Opportunity 1974 & Global War on Terrorism 2001: I’m sure there are others but these wars come to my mind. None of them have been won for the simple reason that Fred points out in his essay. A good read!
