I have been busy setting up my two Samsung tablets with new apps. First, I have removed Moon+Reader and gone back to ReadEra which I had used before. Don’t remember why I quit using it but now have it on both tablets again. Second, I have also gone back to using Brave browser on both tablets; setup a little different than what I remember doing before and I like what I now have. Third, I replaced the Samsung default launcher with Nova Launcher which I have been able to setup as I like whereas I never was able get the Samsung default to look like what I wanted.

In my last posting I wrote about finding a way to download books into my Kobo Libra 2 without using a cable. After getting some books down loaded I opened one of them and highlighted an annotation. This was a test to see if I could extract the highlighted text as a quote – I could not. In the past when the Kobo was connected with a cable to my laptop I could see the Kobo files then with a couple of clicks I had the text. With their latest update and having only Android tablets to work with that was not possible.

So, since last Saturday I have been trying to extract text from the Kobo. A Samsung Support request was promptly answered but the suggested solution was to add an app that would cot me $6/mo on an annual subsciption. Yesterday, I finally found a text editor that I somewhat understood how to use that opened a Kobo file where I had to add text which would export what I had highlighted. I could then access that exported text file and get it downloaded into my tablet where I could copy and paste. I don’t know if I can do it again but I was able to do it with the test text. HA
